Curis provides an excellent core benefit program for employees.  You are immediately eligible for coverage – no waiting period – unless stated otherwise. 

Paid Time-Off.  Curis  provides 10 company-paid holidays plus a minimum of three floating  holidays, a minimum of three weeks vacation, and seven sick days  annually.  Vacation accrual and the number of floating holidays increase after five years of service.

A choice of an HMO or PPO medical plan through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.  We offer Harvard Pilgrim Value HMO plan as well as the Harvard Pilgrim Value PPO plan.  If you decline coverage because you have medical insurance under another plan, we pay you $500 (annually)!

Prescription drug benefits through the Harvard Pilgrim plans.  Your Harvard Pilgrim enrollment covers prescription drugs through BioScripts.  BioScripts is accepted at most pharmacies.  Additional discounts for prescription co-payments are available through mail delivery for maintenance drugs.

Vision care benefits through Harvard Pilgrim.  You may receive one eye exam every 12 months, with a $15 co-payment through the Harvard Pilgrim plan.  Discounts are available on eyewear at participating vendors.

Health club membership reimbursement through Harvard Pilgrim.  You may be reimbursed for up to $150/year for membership in a qualified health club through the HPHC plan.  To be eligible, you will have been a HPHC and health club member for at least four months in the same year.

A dental plan through Delta Dental of Massachusetts.   Curis offers the DeltaPremier plan – the best Delta Dental has to offer! 

A Section 125 Plan.  Curis’  Section 125 plan allows employees to (1) have premium contributions for  medical and dental insurance withheld pre-tax, (2) defer up to $2,500  pre-tax per calendar year to a medical reimbursement account for  reimbursement of qualified unreimbursed medical expenses, and (3) defer  up to $5,000 pre-tax per calendar year to a dependent care  reimbursement account for reimbursement of qualified dependent-care  expenses.

Company-paid life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance.  Your life insurance benefit is equal to two times your base salary up to $650,000.  The AD&D benefit is equal to another two times your base salary.  Premiums are paid in full by Curis. 

Optional life insurance.  You  can elect to supplement your company-provided life insurance by  purchasing additional life insurance for 1x, 2x, or 3x your annual  salary.  You benefit from competitive group rates.  Payments are withheld through payroll deduction and remitted monthly on your behalf by Curis.  No check to write or additional bill to pay!

Tax-exempt long-term disability insurance.  Curis’  long-term disability insurance provides a salary-continuation benefit  equal to 60% of your monthly salary up to $14,000 per month.  The value of the premium is added to employee W-2 income.  Employees pay the taxes on the value, making the benefit tax-exempt.

Short-term disability benefits.  Your  salary while disabled depends on the number of years you have been  employed and can be up to 100% of your regular monthly rate.  Short-term disability pay is available for up to three months.   There is no cost to you for this coverage.

Business travel accident insurance.  Employees traveling on company business are covered by business travel accident insurance.   The benefit is an additional 4x salary up to a maximum of $1million.  Coverage is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week while traveling on Curis business.  Curis pays the premium for this coverage.

401(k) Retirement Plan.  Curis’ 401(k) plan includes investment choices from Putnam Investments.  Curis matches employee contributions.  For each dollar you contribute, Curis matches 50% of your contribution, up to 6% of pay.  You are eligible to participate immediately upon hire!

Employee Assistance Program.  Curis provides an EAP program through Mt. Auburn Hospital.  Services  available at no or discounted costs to you include personal, financial,  and legal counseling, childcare referrals, and quarterly educational  seminars on various topics.  The Company covers the full cost of the EAP membership for the initial free services.  

Educational Assistance Program.  Tuition for job-related courses completed with a grade of “A” or “B” is reimbursed at 100%; a “C” grade is reimbursed at 50%.   Fees and books are also covered.  Undergraduate educational courses are covered under the Company’s Section 127 educational assistance plan.  Coverage for job-related graduate courses is also available.  You may be reimbursed for up to $5,250 each calendar year for educational assistance benefits.   Reimbursement for educational expenses, which do not qualify under Curis’ program, is taxable income for the employee.

Stock Option Grant.  Curis typically offers a stock option grant as part of each employment offer.  Option grants are subject to approval by the Company’s Board of Directors.  The Board may also authorize annual ongoing merit stock option grants.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan.  Curis sponsors an ESPP to allow employees to purchase Curis Common Stock through payroll deduction at a discounted price.   ESPP offering periods are every six months from June 15 to December 14 and December 15 to June 14.  You are eligible to participate after six months of employment.

Employee Referral Bonus.  Curis rewards employees for referrals of interested and qualified applicants who are hired for open positions.  Everyone except Company officers, HR staff, and the hiring manager is eligible to receive the bonus.  The amount of the reward depends on the position and ranges from $2,500 to $8,500.   

Mass Buying Power.  Curis subscribes to Mass Buying Power where you can obtain referrals for pre-negotiated discounts on large purchases. 

B.J.’s corporate membership card.  Curis set up a corporate membership account at B.J.’s, the discount warehouse store.  The  corporate membership runs for 15 months, and Curis employees receive a  discount on individual memberships through the corporate account.  Employees pay $30 for an annual membership and receive a free household member card.

Company-Paid Parking and T Passes.  Curis provides free parking for employees who drive to work.  The  Company orders and covers the cost of MBTA passes for bus, subway, and  commuter rail or combinations thereof for employees who take public  transportation to work.  

Curis Sports Team.  CURIS sponsors a co-ed softball team in the Mass Biotech League.   Players are always welcome!
